Antilles Fair (The)
Every Sunday, at the Protestant Church of the Nazarene of Saint-Michel on 9th Avenue, the population, largely Haitian, of the neighbourhood, sings and dances to Creole rhythms. When adult believers consider themselves ready for baptism, the celebrant invites them to immerse themselves completely in the water, in a small pool dug under the floor of the church.
